Dear Beech Grove City Schools families,
Chartwells is honored and excited to serve the students and community of Beech Grove City Schools. Our mission is to serve nutritious, well-balanced meals that appeal to students and the community, as well as introduce fresh and innovative concepts to school dining. With Chartwells, students will be able to take advantage of "Balanced," our signature comprehensive wellness program that teaches students and the school community how to make sound choices for a healthy lifestyle. This award-winning program provides nutrition education and a meal guidance system for students to choose the most nutritious option for selecting meals, snacks, and beverages at school. Balanced selections meet high nutrition standards and consist of whole grains, low-fat dairy, fruits, vegetables, and low-fat options. We will offer Environments, our age-specific, customized dining program that resonates with students, administrators and parents alike. It transforms the typical cafeteria into a unique social learning experience and encourages students to make balanced choices in the cafeteria, in the classroom, and at home. At the elementary level, Chartwells' nutrition and physical activity ambassadors, "Ava Eat," "Sydney C. Learn," and "Theodore Live", engage students about the importance of selecting a balanced meal and participating regularly in physical activity. At the secondary level, this healthy approach will continue with ethnically diverse menus that appeal to students from all backgrounds. We look forward to seamlessly integrating our innovative programs into Beech Grove City Schools, where students will discover how to enjoy meals that are well balanced and nutritious.
