Dear South Grove and Hornet Park Families,
We have exciting news to share with you!
After 10 years as principal at South Grove Intermediate School, and many more years as a teacher at BGMS and South Grove, Mrs. Tonya Reid will now lead the planning for the BGCS Early Childhood Center, scheduled to open in 2022, and will work with Mrs. Erin Probus at Hornet Park Elementary. Mrs. Reid is married and the mother of a daughter and son, who have just left she and her husband as empty nesters. Mrs. Reid is excited about the opportunity to work with our littlest Hornets and the Hornet Park staff and families.
Beginning on Monday, July 27, Mrs. Gina Kuntz Fleming will begin as principal of South Grove Intermediate School. Mrs. Fleming brings extensive experience to her role as principal. After graduating from Marian College (now Marian University) with a BA in Elementary Education, with an endorsement in Special Education, Mrs. Fleming began her teaching career in MSD of Warren Township. She taught in special education, general education, and gifted education settings at the elementary level.
After obtaining her Master’s in Education from Indiana Wesleyan University, and a Master’s in K-12 Building Administration from Butler University, Mrs. Fleming served as principal of Holy Name Catholic School for six years. Thereafter, she was hired as Assistant Superintendent at the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. In July 2013, she began her role as Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.
Mrs. Fleming is married and the mother of two sons. She is the recipient of numerous education awards, including being named as “Teacher of the Year” twice in Warren Township.
Mrs. Fleming stated that she is eager to support the talented professionals at South Grove Intermediate School and emphasized that “I am already impressed with the services and personnel put in place to aid the growth and development of our young people. It is an honor to be a part of the South Grove team.”
Please join us in celebrating these two very talented women as they assume their new roles at Beech Grove City Schools.
It’s a great day to be a Hornet!
