It is going to be an outstanding year at Central Elementary!
Academically the emphasis will be on Reading and Math. Each day the students will be engaged in learning activities that will build their math and reading skills. The teachers will build the students ability to comprehend text, ask and answer question, and to solve problems. Students should read each night and practice math facts. Additional work may come home that will provide additional practice to reinforce skills learned during the day. All of our efforts are toward improving the overall achievement of our students and building life long learners!
This year will mark the implementation of PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support). PBIS will guid our actions and reactions in relation to behavior management. PBIS is a profound focus on expected behaviors. All staff will recognize and reinforce appropriate behavior - creating a productive and safe learning environment for the students.
This year all students will increase their technology skills. Every second grader will have an iPad. In third grade, each student will work with a Chromebook. These technology devices will help to improve their understanding of content and to increase overall achievement. Students will receive direct instruction in the Applied Technology classroom and the students and their teachers will be supported in the classroom.
Be sure to monitor the website and follow the Hornet Blast to be informed of and prepared for school events!
The staff and students put forth effort each day to build a successful learning environment based on respect and responsibility! Please contact the school with any questions, concerns, or successes! We love to communicate with our families!
